  1. I have been trying to add Abaqus job in Compute Manager. We are using Dassault License server for Abaqus. The abaqus job works fine outside PBS environment but it is throwing error message reading abaqus license variable. /cm/shared/apps/Abaqus/DassaultSystemes/SIMULIA/Commands/abaqus memory=2000 cpus=4 job=nut8mm.inp /var/DassaultSystemes/Licenses/DSLicSrv.txt /var/DassaultSystemes/Licenses/DSLicSrv.txt Abaqus Warning: The .inp extension has been removed from the job identifier Abaqus Warning: Keyword (dsls_license_config) must point to an existing file. Abaqus Error: License for standard with cpus=4 is not available. Abaqus/Analysis exited with error(s). Can anyone please share your Abaqus templates?
  2. Hi guys, I'm rather new to PBS but I'm dealing with a stable PBS deployment in a private company. Here job submission is done exclusively from the Compute Manager which recalls PAS that is installed upon PBS Pro 12.2. The only available queue is workq. What we want to do is to check, for a specific PAS application, if a job has failed due to a specific software reason, by testing the output or error log of the software (which reduces to parsing a text file) and, in that case, re-queue the job in workq so that it will be the first one to be run when resources available. No delays or modifications to PAS resources are needed; just requeue (o rerun). The whole thing should be transparent to the users. I guess that something similar could be done by writing a hook to be triggered in the execjob_end phase. Am I right? Is this feasible? Is there any other simpler way to do it? We currently don't have any hooks enabled and so we lack of experience with them. Our deployment and workflow is rather "pas_application centric". All the logic and rationales are implemented inside the strat.py and presubmit.py scripts in PAS. Thanks a lot for your help NN
  3. Hi support team, In order to understand how a HPC system works, we started to build a test system with HP Z420 workstations. We've successfully installed Altair License Manager and PBS Pro on head node using the 30-day trial license. Finally we've installed the HWE Compute Manager and there wasn't any problem at installation. I can login to Compute Manager portal but when I try to add server, it fails. It promts "Failed to add server". I filled the spaces like: Server Name: <hostname of head node> Host : <hostname of head node> (static IP address of head node is stated in /etc/hosts file.) Username : <root> Password : <root password> PBS server and licensing server works fine. What can be the problem? Should port number is given manually? If it is, which port number should it be? Also as we have private network between nodes, the firewall is disabled.
